Welcome to new studio artist Nick Gordon. Nick is currently working through a form of abstraction. He uses classical ideals of proportion to create musical scales whose intervals increase bygeometric variations of the golden ratio which interact across the surface. These structures are an implicit part of western aesthetics, manifest in art, architecture and music.

The design forms a premise for improvisations using colour and tonality, during which linear elements are added or subtracted as modulations of atheme emerge and recede. The intuitive appeal of idealised proportionsremain as counterpoint to the harmonies and contrasts of colour and tone, with their various emotional and experiential connotations.
