Artist Studios Sydney

Located in the centre of the Marrickville Creative Precinct next to Sydenham Train Station, our studios are of premium quality aimed to provide affordable quality work spaces for emerging Artists. Our expansive warehouse space has excellent light, kitchen and bathroom facilities, and 24 hour access to the studios. This is a small to medium sized complex with six studios in total, back lane access to a docking area for large artworks, and a small workshop area.

At the front of the building we have a gallery space where we target recent fine art graduates for the opportunity to gain professional practise experience and the opportunity to exhibit. All artists will have the opportunity to exhibit with us in our annual INHouse exhibition that closes our gallery program each December.

We prefer artists that can work together for annual events such as the annual Inner West Council Creative Trails. For this event the building is open to the public for one weekend with access to all studios, along with a day of Performance Art.

We also provide art education programs for adults and Artists are welcome to submit art programs for consideration to teach at Scratch. The Education atelier is on level one and is separate from the Artists Studios. We currently run life a weekly life-drawing group, drawing & painting courses, and one day workshops.

Scratch Art Space is located close to Sydenham Train Station and the Newtown to Marrickville bus routes. We have street parking and a council parking area across Sydenham Road.
