Artist Statement
By carefully threading paint into thick, tapestry-like layers, I capture the deeply held connection I have to the innate beauty of everyday objects and the passage of time. This process brings life to the lifeless, transforming ordinary things into deeply moving works that resonate with me on a personal level. These layered compositions tell a story, excavating my memory and connecting me to the past. Whether you call them still lives or interior landscapes, these objects have long been calling out to me, urging me to breathe life into the inanimate.
My artistic practice is deeply embedded in patient, laborious scrutiny of these objects. Through this meticulous process, I anthropomorphize them as they wait to be surfaced and understood, imbuing them with human qualities to make sense of my experience and connect with their essence.
