Drawing II / Urban Landscape Project is a follow up to our Drawing for Beginners Course. We begin with a project based 7 week course focussed on an urban landscape on Sydney Harbour. Urban landscapes provide an opportunity to draw structure within the landscape which is a great way for beginner drawing students to segue into the broad aspects of landscape.

For this drawing course we spend the first day on-site in a Sydney Harbour location learning how artists make studies that are meaningful and useful as reference material for works created and developed in the studio.

Weeks 2 – 7 in this course are spent in the studio with experienced artist Carmel Byrne. We guide you through the process to develop concepts, and to experiment with extended ideas through materials and scale. All works can remain in the studio for the run of this course.

Students must provide their own materials for this course and we’ll back up in the studio with any materials that will help extend your vocabulary in drawing along with scale and techniques.
