Inner West Art & Culture Grant

We’re pleased to announce that the Inner West Council has provided SAS Gallery with an 2018 Art & Culture Grant, supporting our Arts Connex Project.

The Arts Connex Project is a series of exhibitions that provide professional practice opportunities for regional artists and network support to position the Inner West as the gateway for contemporary art in Sydney.

The program sponsors artists and/or curators to exhibit regional artists in Sydney with network support and professional practise opportunities.

The first exhibition is Crossing Paths: Intersecting practices in regional Australia, curated by Braidwood artist Julian Laffan.

Julian has brought together artists working in different media is used to explore concepts relating to place and time.  Living and making work in the small rural community of Braidwood, all four artists are influenced by experiences further afield and all use the role and power of the photograph to inform their unique visual language.

The second exhibition will be held in September 2018.

Through fostering regional connections,
Arts Connex positions the Inner West as the gateway for Sydney Arts and Culture
